Point Rock Park
Visit Point Rock park for a picnic, some disc golf or to just take a walk along the creek. It's scenic passages and overlook can produce some stunning photography.
Historic District
Take a self-guided through our rich historic district. You'll find victorian styles, Sears Roebuck and many more unique architecture wonders. Visit the stores in our historic downtown and stop for a cup of tea at the Mad Hatter or a sandwich from AJ's. We have antique shops featuring vintage and eclectic goods from the past as well as unique and creative artisans designing jewelry, clothes, artwork, ornaments, stained and blown glasses, candies, soaps and candles.

Mount Carroll Community Foundation (MCCF)
The Mount Carroll Community Foundation (MCCF) was founded in
2011 as an Affiliate Foundation of the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend.
Our mission is to encourage, assist, and advise donors to build an endowment to be
used as a resource for a broad range of community needs (arts and culture, education,
health and human services, historic preservation, etc.), and to assist donors in creating a lasting legacy through a variety of giving options.

Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies
The Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies provides interdisciplinary and continuing education to meet the evolving training needs of individuals who work to preserve historic landscapes, and cultural, historic, and artistic properties. The Campbell Center is dedicated to the utilization and rehabilitation of the historic site of the Frances Shimer Academy.

Farmer's Market
What town would be complete without its Farmer's Market? Mount Carroll's Farmer's Market, open from May through October offers delicious home baked goods, herbs, plants and produce direct from the farm to you. Peruse the displays of arts and crafts and go home with something special every Saturday morning from 8am - noon.
Raven's Grin Inn
Our local haunted house attraction is open year round and is nationally famous. The handmade, eccentric art deco both inside and out will have you wondering, as will the owner. His homespun tales of haunts and tremors in the house he and his wife live in will leave you breathless. Your experience will be unique, entertaining and, if you're lucky, touched by a ghost.
